FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION

As professional mental health clinicians we respect and appreciate how important it is for you, your partner, and/or your family to work with a therapist or counselor with whom you have a high level of trust and confidence.

In order to help you find the therapist or counselor who is right for you all of our clinical staff offer a free initial consultation to potential new clients. This is a time for you, your partner, and/or family to meet a prospective therapist in a non-therapeutic, yet professional way so that you can ask any questions you have on your mind. It is also an opportunity for you to experience a little bit of that therapist's unique style of working and relating with you.

The initial consultation usually lasts between 30 minutes and one hour and some of the most common questions potential new clients ask include:
  • What is your education?
  • What is your therapeutic approach or theoretical orientation?
  • Will you mostly listen or do you take more of an active approach?
  • How do you feel about medications?
  • Will you recommend that I start taking medications?
  • Are you comfortable working with _________________ (an issue)?
  • Have you ever worked with this kind of issue before?
  • What kind of outcomes or results have you had with this kind of issue before?
  • What kind of insurance do you take?
At the end of the consultation you will be given an information packet to take home with you so that you can review what was discussed in the consultation and make a final decision. If you choose to work with that therapist you can then call to set up your first appointment. You could also choose to set up a free consultation with another one of our therapists or ask for a referral to an outside organization or therapist if we are not able to meet your needs. We are committed to helping you find the right therapist for you!

SUPPORT AND THERAPY GROUPS

Psychotherapy groups and support groups are wonderful ways to complement the work being done in individual, couple, or family therapy as they provide ways to counteract isolation, offer validation and feedback, and practice new skills being learned in these other areas.

The clinical staff of Denver Psychotherapy and Consultation Services, LLC are pleased to work collaboratively with the clinical staff of Noeticus Counseling Center and Training Institute to provide an array of psychotherapy and support groups for the community.

For more information about any of our psychotherapy and support groups or to find out how to join one, please contact our intake hotline at 303-399-9988 x 9 or by email. Thanks.

  • Reduced Fee Services
    • As the clinical staff of Denver Psychotherapy and Consultation Services, LLC we are strongly committed to providing affordable counseling and psychotherapy to our community. In support of this goal we do the following things:
      • Keep our Standard Fee Low: Many private practitioners charge as much as $145.00 per hour. Although we are experienced psychotherapists with a great deal to offer, we keep our fee of $110.00 per hour relatively low so that more people can access our services.
      • Accept Insurance: Most insurance companies contract with us to provide our services at a substantially discounted rate. This means that their reimbursement fees in combination your co-payment generally is much lower than what we would normally charge. We continue to accept insurance, however, as a way of allowing more people access to our services.
      • Support Noeticus Counseling Center: Noeticus Counseling Center and Training Institute is a community-based, not-for-profit counseling center that is affiliated with DPCS, LLC and located in the same facility. The clinical staff of DPCS, LLC provide clinical supervision and mentorship to graduate counseling psychology interns and externs from various graduate counseling psychology programs throughout the Denver/Boulder Metropolitan area so that these graduate student interns and externs can provide significantly reduced-fee counseling services to our community.
      • Reduced Fee Services: The clinical staff of DPCS, LLC provide some reduced fee services to members of the community on a limited basis.
